What sort of scam is this?

Anyone getting these sort of emails?

Sounds like it's just a slightly more sophisticated attempt to get
people looking at their website, which one assumes is some sort of
crap alternative to Usenet.

 

Ditto. Doesn't look too harmful, and the Whois details look genuine
(but "one-man band") but I'd be wary of going anywhere if I didn't
request anything from them, IYSWIM. If the person who's posted your
eMail address wants to share experiences, why the **** didn't they
contact you directly? It's probably website traffic generating spam at
worst.
