What the hells gone on in here?

Have been unsubscribed for a couple of months (maybe more or less) but I
found I missed reading all the banter from the regulars so I just had to
resubscribe.

One lengthy download later (1184) and I am drawn to the "Where's Bear"
thread. To my horror it seems that Bear is dead. A cold shudder runs
down my spine and I frantically search the thread for more info. (Not
that I even knew Bear other than through the group - a bit aggressive on
line and I may have had a couple of run ins myself but nevertheless what
a shock and I'm suddenly feeling real sorry for him!). Anyway the
thread goes on forever and somewhere within it it seems he's not dead
he's simply left the group or was asked to (I can't tell). The rest of
the regulars appear to have gone bonkers and are tearing each other
apart in the process.

Can anyone summarise for me?

 

Bear doesn't frequent these parts anymore and Des is a troll.
