  1. .... Chicago.

I'll be there for a couple of days soon. Anyone got any
recommendations for things to see, clubs to go to,
places to eat, things to do.

Great seafood restaurant just off of Lake Shore Drive. I can't remember
the name of the place, sorry [1] but it's just past the Days Inn on Lake
Shore Drive (with Lake Michigan on your left). Do the Sears Tower too..
    highly recommended.

[1] Just got in from the airport and i was too pissed to care at the
    time on my way out!

Take in the views from the observation decks of the Sears
    and John Hancock towers.
Go to a decent Blues club, although I can't recommend any
    from memory.

Hire a car, drive exactly 106 miles away, smoking half a pack
of cigarettes in the process. Fill the car up with petrol, don
sunglasses and wait until after sunset. Turn the car around....

For full effect ensure that you are followed by 147 [1] instances of
    Illinois law enforcement vehicles

[1] I think that was the number. Do I qualify for an ANORAK#?

Go to a blues club in Maxwell Street.

Well, that's what *I'd* do if I was lucky enough to be visiting
    Chicago.

Home of the electric blues, is Chicago, started when the black
population started leaving the south [1] to work in the factories of
the industrialised north. Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Chess Records.
    Check it out.

[1] biggest peace time migration in history, according to some
documentary I saw a few years back.

Have a nice beer for me on top of the Hancock Tower in
the Signature Room, one of my fav places in Chicago.

I quite like Chicago, having been there a couple of times.

  12. Yup. NFL games are always worth going to and the Bears fans are
certifiably insane - but in a nice way[1].

Unlike the Eagles or Raiders fans who are just a bunch of arroagant
morons who boo their own teams if they ever get behind in a game.

Brian Urlacher (defensive lineman) is not afraid of
tackling other people with extreme prejudice..

I can't remember the ending. It is a _very_ long time since I last saw that
    film.

[1] Not the soap, or the Brittany Spears film, the 1985 film about guitar
    players.

  20. How ironic. Birthplace of one of the finest forms of music, then
later one of the worst abominations ever committed in the name of the
    art.
