  1. No. What they were objecting to, in the nicest possible way, was your
    taste in furnishings.

Exact same system was in operation in Holland when my sister lived there.
    Worked well.

They are unlikely to accept it for the same reasons as a charity

IIRC the problem with electrical goods, is that there is no
"certificate of safety", so they can't be used.

I recall, whilst working for Reuters many moons ago, them binning all
old PC's, monitors, etc. It was a crying shame.

Here in Paris, we leave stuff like that on the street

When I house-cleared our second house I put it all on the street and it was
like a bazaar as they all battled for the best bits. They had vans and
everything, including argument as to who saw what first.

    'Twas mad.

Freecycle it. If you're just going to chuck it anyway, stick a posting
on the Freecycle site for your area, someone will want it.

Nice enough, I suppose, but I prefer using the 40" from my sofa.

I'd love to do that but the space where the telly has to go is 94.5cm
    wide and I can't find a 40" that'll fit there :(

Leave it outside with a sign asking ?25.00 for it. It'll be stolen
