I'm in a bit of a quandary. I've got two weeks off starting Monday &
nothing to do other than the UKRM trackday. Well that's not strictly
true, I've got lots to do - just nothing I want to be doing on a
    holiday.

So I'll throw it open to UKRM. Budget's up to say £1.5k. What would you
do in my position? Inspire me.

Pack lightly and piss off to the continent on the bike, going wherever
you feel like when you get up in the morning.

Give me £1.5k and I'll let you fit my kitchen.

Chimay. If you can get away this Friday, there looks like being at least
one spare place in the hotel in Cambrai. If you can't, catch the same boat
Dodger's getting on Saturday morning. Come Monday, instead of heading back
to Blighty, **** off to the Alpine passes, Lugano, the Maloja pass and the
    Engadine valley, Stelvio Pass, Dolomites...

This was my initial thought, but whilst I quite like riding alone, the
evenings could get a bit lonely, & I'm not sure that's really what I
need at the moment iyswim. There was a possibility of a mate coming
along but he seems to have gone quiet on the subject.

    I've heard she's a bit of a stunner, but £1.5k? I think not!

45 minutes off the A20 near Limoges. Serious enduro country (see which
    SOFEB).
About 8 hours from Calais (that's by car and trailer so probably less
    on a bike).

Stop it, I'm getting moist! I think going anywhere this weekend is
probably out - not until Sunday at least. I've got 35 eBay auctions
finishing tomorrow night & won't have time to pack & post them until
    late Friday night/Saturday morning.

Hmmm - some of my favourite roads around there. I had a breath-taking
race with three other MVs down the hill into CF a couple of years ago.
One of those "**** it, who cares if we die?" rides. Gives me goosebumps
    just thinking about it.

Lots of people bidding on multiple items unfortunately, some from
overseas, so I can't pack them individually without taking the piss on
postage. Plus I haven't got enough boxes anyway.

Then sit back and bask in that lovely warm inner feeling it will give you.

    Not .....

    1. Ferry to Bilbao, spend a week blasting the mountain tracks avoiding
    tobacco smugglers and police.

    2. European city of your choice, eat well, drink well, shag well and sleep
    well.
