    ....do I:

    A: Buy a 2007 R1 (UK version. obv) and ride like a twat (i.e. a useless
    twat rather than a fast one) or;
B: Have the NS500 'Kimbered'......? By which I mean take it to that nice
Mr Nigel Kimber and have *him* do all the stuff I'll never get round to like
the NC35 front and rear ends and a petrol tank that doesn't leak and some
Terry Shep exhausts with a nice ceramic coating etc etc etc...

Remember that my chances of riding anything but a DR-Z400E between March and
October next year are, I hope, quite small and I *will* have to get rid of
the Daytona to get the R1....

    Views please.....

Finish the NS. *No question*. You can ride an R1 (someone elses preferably)
    anytime.
Your NS is pretty much unique and will undoubtedly be far more fun to hoon
around on, although far more expensive to run than a vanilla R1 I suppose.
Oh and when you do get the exhausts, upload an MP3 to the Gmail drive.

The NS *is* finished. But very standard.

I thught you always intended to take it way beyond standard suspension,
brakes, wheels etc. That's what I was referring to.
Droool. The guys on the forum seem pretty convinced too. *Nice* work Sir.

Provided the NS is in France, let me have a go and there's only one choice
    left.

    Pleased to be of service...

  7. Seen it before, but, its still a fucking beauty.

You are a lucky lucky man.

I had a (loan) RG500 for about a month in my early 20's, viscous little
fucker it was as well - peaky as hell with polished bits and trick bits
    running on stone age rubber.

Good way of learning throttle control though.

  9. Well obviously.. :)

But its a bit weird to ride on 100/90-16 front and 120/90-17 rear and shite
brakes...... trying to slow down, let alone stop, from 130+mph is a bit,
    er, interesting......

Think I *need* more modern tyre sizes and brakes and, maybe, MC28
bodywork... In fact I think it's decided that the Daytona is gonna go and
the money from that plus the Alfa go to getting the NS5 how it should be
(i.e. modern) and the 400 sorted to very good standard condition too... If
there's owt left over then *maybe* an '07 R1 too, but I guess anything else
shoulod be spent on the trail bike business as i won't get much time to ride
anything else next year anyway. I hope.

    Bye bye money..........

  11. Oh dear. 'Swot I was thinking. Highly seasonal so has to generate enough
dosh to tide one over six months of the year, expensive to run, likely
to be dependent on foreign tourists as the natives will have their own
trails and bikes to play with, if successful likely to generate
resentment among the locals unless a lot of diplomacy and involvement of
local people is sorted out, insurance and French social/legislative
issues I don't even want to think about, language barrier......

I hope to hell he's done his homework.
