    You're 850 miles from home, and you realise that the funny noise you
    can hear is being caused by the tyre rubbing on the inside of the
    swing-arm.

    Do you?

    a: return to the mother-in-law and attempt a repair?
    b: phone Carole Nash International Rescue?
    c: smear some grease on the tyre and ride it home?

    @news.zen.co.uk:

    of course not, fitting a Scottoiler would be much more efficient

    Abandon the bike and carry on for a weekend on the piss then worry
    about it later.

    Worked for me when my 9R decided to eat it's swinging arm.

    <raises hand>

    Top quality silicon grease, too.

    It's all over the rhs of the tyre now. Bloody centrifugal wossname.

    Wasn't a problem, really: over 70, with the stereo on, I could barely
    hear it. :)

    Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the

    .... but not the inclination.

    I suspect it's the standard "swing arm reinforcement gone rusty and
    expanded" problem.

    It's easily solved, either by taking a bfo hammer to it, or fitting
    the new swing-arm that's sitting on the shelf in the garage.

    That'll be after re-acquiring a clutch on the Blackbird.

  13. File away some of the swinging arm to give the tyre more clearance.
