What Yamaha is this?

It isn't in the list of bikes on their website, but looks fairly
recent. It's blue, naked and has Ducati Monster-style criss-cross
tubing under the tank. I'd guesstimate that it's a 750 or thereabouts.

Just curious, as it zooms past my office window every day and sounds
    rather fine...

Aye. I was guessing that the OP was (horror) wrong about the age.

As has been said above, sounds like a TRX.

Half-faired (though the fairing could've been junked) lattice-framed
270degree (for that Ducati sound) parallel twin based on the TDM850
    lump.

They did come in a deep metallic blue IIRC.

Positively avant-garde, if you've got a collection like mine.

There's now that one, the /FZ1/ and the /FZ1 Fazer/ which is the
updated version of the old Fazer 1000.

Those strap lines are, err, well, I can't actually think of what they
are, but "FZ6 Fazer - because every biker is different" pretty much
    sums it up!

By coincidence, I popped into Cambridge on the Tuono a couple of hours
ago, and there was a metallic blue TRX parked in one of the bike bays.

I have to say that they are rather pretty.

  14. Hmm, that'd be safe, the local scrotes wouldn't be seen dead on one.

Saw a mob of them disrupting a 222 bus at the West Drayton station
tonight; about 20 or so, pre-teen in my inexperienced eye, started
clambering in and out of the centre doors, then started trying to open the
emergency door on the rear right side. One pulled open the engine cover
at the back, then returned 20 seconds later to pull at something on the
engine and shut it down. The driver eventually pulled away, but I didn't
see how as a U5 arrived after 14 minutes of my waiting in near-freezing
    fog, so my attention was distracted from the riot. (Note to Countdown fans;
in all that time a U3 was displayed as being 9 minutes away, eventually
changing to 8 minutes just before the U5 came.)

  15. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Dr Ivan D. Reid belched forth and ejected the
    following:
    Neither would anyone else.
That's rough round there. The only place I ever used to lock my lorry
was when I was delivering to the London Unis round that area (Holloway
    Road etc).

    Rougher than a badger's arse.

  16. Kinda my point... Tho' if they'd steal an RG250WD expecting a
    disposable field bike, they've no bike-sense a'tall.
