a mate has the following ad in the tradingpost :

    HONDA CBR600F4I, 2001, Red, 600cc, 59500km, Immaculate condition,
meticulously cared for, registered, race stand included. Digital dash, fuel
injected. bike cover included, Be quick!

but has not yet had a single call - what should he be asking for it, what
should he expect to get ?

    cheers

Its probably the fact that he has 60000 clicks on a 2001 supersport bike.

    With about 10000kms, a red/black 2001 f4i generally goes for about
$12000 and you MIGHT get an aftermarket exhaust with that.

With an extra 50000 clicks you can knock a few grand off *at least*

I reckon you'd be lucky to get $10k for it give or take.

Around the $9-9500 mark is more feasible.

Sell the race stand separately. Its not worth throwing it in.

Depending on what sort of race stand it is, id consider buying it myself
as im looking for a new one.

The problem there is that I highly doubt you'll find a 2001 f4i with
60000kms on it that it would be comparable with

    dane
who knows too much about the f4i for his own good :/

I wouldn't pay more than $7000 for it.

I met a guy who just over a year ago bought a brand new f4i for $12,000 (not
    inc. on road costs).

    What was he asking ?

I'm looking to get one of these soon - planning on putting an ad for my bike
in the summer and then will start looking.

    that sounds like me :)

gee, i was thinking if i sold my bike, i would be lucky to get about $10k
for it, and that includes a yoshi, a hugger and a venture grab-bar.

Don't even mention the bike cover --they're only worth $30 new. Registered
    until when? Selling registered?

If you could rephrase please, perhaps after the booze wears off ? Sounds
like you have something to say, but I'm not sure what it is. I just get
this image of a big ass mean, old, bald guy that used to know how to ride
but now just gets pissed and lonely late at night.

Dunno what sort of maintenance history he has on it, though I've suggested
if he can't provide documentation to alleviate the high k's concern he drops
his price - though I think he's after the top dollar rather than the quick
    sale.

    thanks for the input

  16. Dont know, but the problem is the mileage. At that many kms many peoples
perceprtions is that a Jap bike would be a bit worn and very likely doesnt
have a lot of life left in it before needing major work. Not my belief but
the perception of many out there that cannot belive a bike that has been
ridden can be in good condition.
