Sorry, mea culpa. The forum logs me in automagically so I forgot the
    login requirement.

Its a D reg BMW K75C in tidy looking condition that some guy would
like to swap or p/x for a Velocette.
Typically the webshite is now down so I cant do a cut&paste onto
    somewhere accessible. Not my day.

  5. A grand, tops, if it has panniers.

It's a C with the ugly nose job, right?

Less than a grand I'd say.

If it has panniers and not just the rails, I'd offer 700-750 for
it. It's the least sought after K75 model IIRC and it's also the
ugliest. Basically the K75S and the K75RT are somewhat sought after,
everything else is just a cheap bike.

  10. I was offered an *immaculate* 20k miles one (wiv panniers) by Sunami
for, IIRC, £1200. I turned it down. He stuck it on the showroom floor
anyway (he doesn't generally do Beemers as he finds them hard to sell,
as he's unfranchised) and it went for something like £1800. I was
    gobsmacked.

They aren't the best Beemer. As you say, they're not even the best K75.
That, I think, is the S (improved front fork, frame mounted fairing and
higher gearing). The RT is just too bulky for the power.

But I still think a grand for a clean one with panniers is about right.

    This one

    180312647200

made £1100 - OK, younger and with a better luggage kit and not precisely
the same model. But higher miles.

Shame really, as I found the C to be a more pleasant bike to ride than the S

I've always admired the K75, esp. the C version. When they were launched,
Bruce Preston and Terry Snelling rode two of them from Narvik to Gibraltar -
3700 miles in ten days, which included a rest day, so an average of 411
miles a day, and returning 57mpg for the trip.

  13. I've ridden with Bruce Preston: possibly the slowest rider on the
planet, hence the mpg. 400-odd miles a day is nothing, anyway.

    Not for a Z200, anyway.

I bet he would. I'd have the Velo any day.

LE, Valiant, MOV, MAC, MSS, KSS, KTP, KTT, Viper, Venom, Clubman''s
Venom (latterly, Thruxton), ooooh, and most others, with the possible
    exception of a Valiant.

Maybe, but I am getting bored with the Mk3 LE and looking for a change.
The values are roughly equivalent so there is not a lot to lose, unless
you want to make me an offer.

    [much snipping]
Objection m'lord. The K75RT is fine unless you want to go "mad". Having
put 80K miles on one from new I speak from experience. What *is* wrong
with it is; (a) the standard single rear shock, and (b) the seat is too
    short front to back.

    <sob!>

Poor pensioner would have to save his pocket-money for a long time to
buy any of those, I'm afraid.

'Nuff on my plate with the Honda RS 250 and the (to be rebuilt) BMW R80.
