Rather stupid of me this morning.

I was having an argument with someone on another group and
I needed a reference to Justice Denning (The spirit, vs the
    letter of the law)
and Google threw up a link to:

    http://WORID-OF-BOOKS.COM

Which appears to be a book download site, but clicking on
the download link gets you a trojan attempting to install
    itself

Whois reports world-of-books.com as registered to someone
    in Las Vegas, since 2002.

*Then* I spotted the deliberate mistake!

    Duh!

It's probably worth mentioning the trojan on that actual page, too.

Having been a part-time proofreader in a previous life (like you'd ever
guess that); the misnomer leaped out at me. I can see how civilians
    would be sucked in, though.

There's a fuckload of phishing sites out there - browser emptor, innit.
    With caveats, obviously.

Indeed - although there are other sites warning of it - and even
on the Notrun site there are user reviews contradicting their
    verdict.

  13. Social imperative innit, a peer pressure thing, sort of. Both a need and
a means to be seen to be a part of the crowd.
