Wheel Holding Thingumy

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Julian Ashcroft, Sep 2, 2003.

  1. Last time I went on a ferry with a bike. I parked the bike in a contraption
that held the front wheel and ratchet straps held the bars and with that the
bike was held firmly in place.

The thing which held the wheel was a 'C' shaped device, which when you
rolled the front wheel in sort of tipped to hold the wheel firmly in place.

If possible I would like to fit something like that to my bike trailer, as
it would make loading the bike on the trailer single handed easier. If
anyone knows what I'm talking about, do you know if you can buy them
    commercially?

I scoured google for bike sheds a while ago and saw something which appears
to match what you're talking about...

If you go to "Photographs", then have a look at "Racer with short trolley"
you'll see the clamp. Might be worth telephoning them and asking if they
wouldn't mind selling you one. (They come in bits apparently, so I assume
the clamp comes seperate and must be attached...
