Anyone had a buckled alloy repaired?
What was the end result like?
    How much?
    And who did it?

if you've really actually buckled it, I wouldn't have thought a repair
would be particularly safe. Can't you just buy one on eBay like
    everyone else?

AFAIK Hagon (yes, the shock absorber folks) offer that service and they
can tell you if the wheel's repairable or not.

do they offer any sort of guarantee on the repaired wheel? The reason
I asked is that, presumably if they tell you it's unrepairable they
don't get paid, so there'd be a /slight/ pressure on them to call
    borderline cases as repairable, IYSWIM.

ISWYM and I don't know if they do offer a guarantee or not - I've only
ever used them for spoked wheel repairs.

These guys http://www.bossmotorcycles.co.uk did mine in 1984
and I believe it's still on the road.

    Timo Geusch says...
I've had a ZZR1100 wheel and a few discs straightened by Hagons and
    they've been perfect every time.

    Champ says...
You couldn't tell my first ZZR1100's front wheel had been repaired. The
paint hadn't been damaged when it happened, and it was still undamaged
when they sent it back to me. The flat on the rim was pushed about 5mm
    out each side.

    Bear says...
Hagon wouldn't offer a repair service if they weren't confident they'll
    be safe.

If it's the same as a Thundercat wheel, I've got one sitting here, but it's
    black.

Ludicrous. If they're not repairable, why would they leave themselves open
to either a reputation destroyer or even litigation by repairing them. For a
    50 quid job? Well obviously.
