  2. Oh, it comes down to a size thing. It's just as much effort to snip a
short errant sig as a large one, no?

A sig is always at the end of an message, so that's far too much effort.

select the line above the sig
    ctrl-shift-end
    del

  5. Is incorrect.
    Is correct.
    Is superfluous
**** all to do with the operating system but a lot to do with properly
    designed and implemented software.

  6. Not when you're replying. Well depending on newsreader I suppose.
You just deleted your own sig, no?

Did you notice the two rods at the back of each bike to cut power
if the wheelie gets too high? That does rather spoil the fun.

  12. I would like to take this opportunity to remind those new to the group
that many of the regulars of good standing have knowledge in which they
can be properly considered as Experts. Stay around long enough and this
will become apparent. In this matter and in these parts the long haired
shandy drinking northern hippie scum is without peer and should be
accorded the appropriate respect due to a person of his status.

Leave him alone! Like me he has to take any audience he can get.
Policing sig seps probably keeps amused for hours.

I do believe you're full of shit.

Have a look at RFC 977 (the nntp spec.) Towards the end is an example
nntp article. All the line breaks are 0x0A (linefeed).

Admittedly the example has no sig. sep. but I'd be extremely surprised
if a properly formed article was supposed to have 0x0A line breaks
throughout, then have --0x0D as a sig. sep.

    Cheers,

    Nick

Sadly, you're right. Google appear to strip whitespace at the end of lines.

I'll have to smuggle a news reader in to work...

Or if you use a proper newsreader like Xananews, you select the text
you want in your reply and hit the reply button. Problem sorted.
