    The bike, obviously.

    Did he spit or swoller?

Riding along minding my own business when the Saxo (turning right) pulls out
into the road from an alley way on the left. I grab a handful and manage to
slow the bike down a bit but hit him square on the front offside wing and
find myself and the bike being propelled skywards - stoppie style. Just as I
thought I would be doing a forward roll over the bonnet, the bike lost
momentum and dropped back down to the ground. When it landed it fell to the
left but I managed to step off it so I didn't end up underneath it.

All in all it could have been a lot worse. I managed to stay on the bike
    when it mattered and managed to get off when I needed to. Nothing broken;
just a few aches and pains in my arms and upper body as these took the brunt
of the impact through the handlebars. My shins also hurt a bit where they
    hit the engine bars.
Well I was hoping it would get the Last Bin of The Year Award but I fear
    that may be optimistic.

I always knew the extra long beak on my Adventure would get me into trouble
    one day.

I'll say. As far as I know there is no such award.

    Well, satisfaction for a start.

Although having said that, I would imagine the look on the driver's
face when he saw Big Tony rising from the wreckage, shaking large
vehicle components from his shoulders would have been some small
satisfaction in itself. You wouldn't want to have been the car
    driver, now would you?
That's a little strong, mate. That's fighting talk where I come from.

Hell that's some serious damage to the car.

Your bike has some cosmetic damage and the front forks look bent. It
cost about 30ukp to straighten them.

You most certainly left your mark, Tony. It's a real bonus that the
car looks severely dented and the damage to the GS minimal. For a
    change.

Fucking well done - it would have been impolite to swerve and lob, or
just drop in a heap and miss him, then watch him drive away.

How are the aches and pains?

We'll see how much this invisible damage costs! If you look carefully the
forks are slightly bent and the beak is a bit shorter.

    Isn't that always the way?

On a similar subject I was discussing the forthcoming hazard avoidance
section of the test and how the bike training firms are going to cope with
Sean on the way beck from the EOSM. As he understands it, it's a bit like
the "Elk Test" (a quick right then left) that was so spectactulary failed by
the Mercedes A Class when it was launched. He didn't know if there would be
a minimum or recommended speed but I can see that the training schools are
going to have a high proportion of people lobbing their bikes on test and
during practice for this particular manouevre.
Not too bad. Give it a week and hopefully they will he gone.

And just did the bike training firms cope with Sean on the way to the
EOSM? Was he a bit of a handful when approaching Derbyshire?

The Telelever strut will most likely be bent too.
    If it is...
I reckon by the time all the bits have been added
    up you'll be looking at £1500 - £2000 including
    labour.

They do crash very well, but the bits aint cheap.

What I want to know is: how the hell can someone *not see* Big Tony on
    an 1150GS BMW?
