I had a seagull get a direct hit on the top of my head whist I was sat
down by the seafront in Funchal, Madeira having a beer.

Luckily, none went in my beer.

It's a pretty shit place, granted.

I was there for a football match that didn't actually take place. It
was Sept 12th 2001. Too late to cancel the flights, hotels & still get
a refund so we went anyway.

malnutrition / disease in general every fucking day than died in the
twin towers.

I flew to the States the day they planted Diana. Oh, how pleased I was
to discover that the shops and restaurants at Gatport Airwick had closed
as a "mark of respect".

Eventually, a bloke opened the newsagents and was besieged. A security
drone tried to get him to close again. I told him to **** off. As a
"mark of respect", obviously.

 

Cost me a days OT that did. Had a MW link to shift and the riggers all
cried off so they could watch the planting.

 

I, on the other hand, took the opportunity to go out and ride like a twat
on the completely empty roads. Nice sunny day it was.

Same here, all round the other side of Northamptonshire to where every
