Does anyone have any suggestions about where I can obtain the following in
    the UK?
    http://www.britcycle.com/Products/651/65111.htm

I have googled extensively. There are one or two dealers who stock Amal
stuff but I haven't found any that make explicit reference to this size of
manifold. I would welcome suggestions about who to try before I start
phoning around. Even more welcome would be someone who has such an item
knocking about in a old parts bin and is willing to part with it in exchange
for beer tokens. I am putting a 38mm Amal MKII on my LS650. The existing
manifold is slightly too big so I need something like this. The spacing of
the holes for the manifold studs (72mm) is not particularly important as I
am prepared to make adjustments to them - 2 and 3/4 inch would easily be
    close enough.

No, but why not just buy that one? Tell them to send it by USPS (NOT
UPS!) & the postage will be minimal, & you probably won't be charged
    import duty & VAT.

Looks like the one on my old GSXR1100.
The middle two are straight and the outer two offset.
It fits the original 36mm carbs or 38mm Mikuni flatslides (OD=42mm)
Some years had diffewrent size carbs so you should find something to fit.

Or you could try one of these:

That is my fall-back if all else fails. However, the don't have an online
purchase system so it would come down to international phone calls and/or
emails and several days hanging around. If I can buy something easily over
here then I would prefer that.

Oi - are you taking the piss?
Thanks - could be useful. I have to say that I HATE web sites filled with
pages that say "under construction". If they haven't finished the pages
then they shouldn't post them on the website.

Why aren't you putting a well made and reliable carb on it?

Its a well-known conversion for these bikes. They come with a Mikuni BS40
which is set up VERY lean for the European market. Re-jetting alone
wouldn't be sufficient to maximise flow as it appears to have a paricular
needle and slide configuration that restricts options. The Amal improves
throttle response and top-end. It is also a simple bolt-on once I have the
inlet rubber - it won't require re-jetting and it is a perfect fit with the
airbox rubber. I also happen to have a 38mm Amal MKII already so there is
little extra cost apart from the inlet rubber,

Thanks for the info. I had a look at their website before starting this
thread but couldn't see inlet rubbers anywhere. I may give them a call.

Amal have been around since about 1918. However, this company only sells
    them, it isn't the manufacturer.

He's just a one man band though is Mr NRP, but he's good. Probably spends
more time fettling carbs than he does fiddling about with web site stuff.

I recently tried buying pair of Amal's for an old Beezer and the quote I
got was close to 700 squids. The owner of said bike didn't bother getting
them for some reason. I'm not sure they were genuine Amal's either.
