Where to buy a sat-nav?

When you buy a bike specific satnav you get a waterproof unit, helmet
    connection and glove friendly operation.

The XL Europe that I've got costs £166, 4.3" screen on this one.

The Rider Europe costs £391, 3.5" screen on this one.

I only need a satnav on a bike if I'm away in Europe and if I'm over
there I use a tankbag and I've yet to have a problem with the unit
getting damp. I don't want to hear a machine bitching at me, I don't
want to have my phone distracting me and I'm just about capable of
setting where I want to go before I leave.

    Pikey? If you say so.

I'm sure I pointed this out earlier in the thread.

I blame you for trusting me.

Andy was too pissed to walk and regretted it when Champ decided we
were going home over the mountain.

On the couple of occasions I've used mine abroad I've loaded all the
planned destinations into it before I left Bedford and at least I can
run the whole route through on my laptop before I go. The one place I
didn't bother doing this for was the Hoek of Holland and everybody
knows what happened when I stood in a hotel car park with a slight
hangover and just put Hoek into the bloody thing.

Indeed - I'll do the same. Garmin's Mapsource on the PC makes this a
    cinch.
    We do.

That's the clincher, though - especially when trailering somebody
else's pride and joy through a strange city. The number of times I've
gone wrong due to the obvious route being obviated by a one-way system
    - or a 'No Right Turn' and then been thrown entirely: that just
    doesn't happen any more. Laaahxurry.

OK, I give in. If you are capable of getting lost on the Isle of Man,
or not finding Heysham/Liverpool. Possibly, a GPS system is necessary
on your R1. Do you have signposts or colour coded handrails around your
    house too, perchance?

he was my first proper pillion on the trumpet.

I really wasn't feeling well and decided to leave early and he was
very pissed by this point. I think this was the day where they'd been
up early to watch the football and were legless by lunchtime.

it was the first time I'd ridden from Ramsey to Port Erin the wrong
way round and you couldn't see **** all because of the fog.
as I said, he was very drunk.

Can't recall the last time I got really animated. Think it might
have been the Snetterton endurance round where one of our our
erstwhile TI teams mate decided the bike was too dangerous to
ride and I was fucking determined that we were going to finish
that race. Even if I had to push the fucking bike over the line
myself (which as it turned out, I nearly did).

I play the 'UKRM, here to amuse me' card.
'svery kind of you to say so. Though I must admit, I'm unaware of
especially targeting you. I've always tried to be fairly open and
non-discriminatory in my piss taking, such as it is.

Ah ha! Not quite as senile as I thought. Only a little bit, it was
Port Erin, not Peel we went from.

I love it. You can plan, and check distances, and everything.

Then you can load up your tracks when you get home, to see where
    you've been.

So this loading "all the planned destinations" and "run the whole route
through on my laptop" - it's just like me doing my "research on Google
    maps" then?

Sheesh - and I thought SatNav made everything so much easier.
