I am looking for a warm high-visibility motorcycle jacket, similar to
those used by the NSW Motorcycle Police.

Although I have not had a really close look, they appear to be a
reinforced bright green/yellow jacket, with a warm lining.

Are you also after a white helmet and BMW with red-and-blue lights to
    go with it? ;-)

Errr, I do believe it was being pointed out that you contemplate asking the
    NSW Motorcycle Police.

Either that, or next time I bump into my ambo mate, I'll ask where he got
    his.

They're made by Tiger Angel (or atleast the Vic Police ones are). I was in
the shop at the time when a copper came in and picked his up.

I imagine they are very closely (if not exactly) based on the Element
Jacket. This is a Goretex Jacket with inner lining as well. I know the
version I saw the copper pick up had a polar fleece type liner, rather
toasty for those frosty Melb mornings.

    Cheers

I love talking to myself ..

So I'll tell myself I should have also told you the standard jacket retails
at $599 and can be seen at www.tigerangel.com.au

    Not really :)
Although, I did once test ride an ex-police K1200RS, in my normal riding
gear, ie black jacket and multi-coloured helmet, and it was amazing how
much more room and "respect" I got, compared to normal.

They are probably very un-cool. But they are waterproof, warm, and
    highly visible.
I usually try to avoid the NSW Motorcycle Police, but, yes I suppose
    that is one option.
    That would be good. Thanks.

    Really?

It is highly unlikely the NSW Police are going to sell a non-member one of
their jackets, so, it will be therefore "similar".

My ambo mate has one that is similar, so both my points are valid.

I don't think firies want jackets made from pigskin. They smell terrible
    when they burn.
