So... Ducati's pulling the plug on its factory team in WSBK... Is there a
connection between signing Rossi for motoGP and this (I suppose he's a very
expensive commodity), or do I have the wrong end of the stick?

Sad day for World Superbikes - not to mention Haga...

I was thinking more affectionately than that. He's a bit
    younger-brotherish...

  3. I feel World Superbikes has lost it's way of late. The factory bikes now
days seem to be less based on the homoglation model with each passing year.
This years R1, for example, runs a fuel tank below the motor to aid in
lowering the center of gravity. Not aware of any special edition road
registerable R1 that has this feature.

How do I know this... Well I live next door to a fella whose girlfriend has
a mate who had a lover who lived near a lass who knew someone who once slept
with a girl whose sister held an umberlla in one of the support classes at
the World Supers at PI this year. So there

Superstock is much more faithfull to the original concept in my view.

Yeah; Ducati getting Mister-Guaranteed-Headline Monkeyboy and pulling
back on the SBK is gonna' hurt the series they've been the back-bone of
for so long. (Backbone and *every other* bone for many years too!)
Aprilia and BMW have got deep pockets but it's gonna' be shaky unless
the MotoGP castaways Kawasaki and Suzuki start to get a bit more serious.
(Why on earth Suzuki persist in MotoGP where they're a laughing-stock
    totally baffles me!)

Haga will find work (if he wants it).

    You're shittin' me. I reckon your fella's girlfriend's mate's lover's
    neighbor's friend's root's sister's full of crap!

Fuel-tank below the donk doesn't sound real credible.

My Japanese is undoubtedly a little rusty since the year I spent there as a
schoolgirl in 1977. We used 'chan' sometimes for boys - younger ones - but
it's altogether possible that Little Foreign Me missed some kind of ironic
undertone. I hope Nori's not offended ;-) (coz of course he probably reads
    aus.moto...)
