Damn.. been searching all morning and can't seem to find the post calling
me "a pathetic old man".. LMAO.. Must be the altzheimers kicking in and out,
but I don't even remember who posted it.. I don't think I properly responded
to that post... Dammit.. selective memory afflicts all of us...don't it ?
Anyway, to whoever it was, here you go... Many of you don't know me
personally.. Many of you do...I don't think anyone who has met me and most
who are acquainted with me on this group would describe me as "pathetic"..

You know, I read that in one of these threads. I was gone for two
weeks and there was well over 500 new messages to dig through. I guess
that is a good sign that the group is alive and well.

NP.... I am hoping to get to ride a bit this week. Looks like we are
going to have some scattered T-Storms. If the weather and all the
other junk I am catching on don't get me down I plan on chewing up my
tires a little bit.

I tried the google newsgroups thing and it drove me nuts so I just
gave up on it. That and it gets my counters all out of whack.

Well, it's good that the group is alive. Some of the conversations
may run some people off, but kind of like you said - just don't read
it or don't reply.

Is there a serious discussion of moderators and all that? Since I was
skimming I thought it was all a joke or something. They do have
moderated usenet groups, and most of 'em suck. A while back someone
offered up something similar. You may recall that what I basically
said was that while I don't always like what goes on in here at least
it is bikers talking about whatever turns their crank (or counter
shaft as may be the case).

Anyway, yeah....gonna try to get the bike out a bit. Weather said
another cool front should be hitting us by next week. I could wait it
out and see, but I'll probably not be able to hold out that long.

I keep thinking I am going to load my bike in the truck and haul it to
Chicago, but I haven't seen anywhere up there that I would want to
ride.

I got a lot of ol' outlaw biker bro's in that neck of the woods and
occasionally they run down through here to loosen up a bit.. Seems we are
the envy of most of the country, in that respect... Be careful haulin' that
ride.. I always hate to do that..

I just realized that I didn't address your question about the group.. Seems
there is an element that would like to charter the group .. Not sure that it
will go anywhere, (it is what it is).. IceMan and I along with a few others
tried to lighten the situation with humor and some laughter.. Got rather
tense and e-mails and threats were running wild along with "kill files" and
advice to "report abuse".. We saw the same thing last year over the
insurance issue ..Maybe it will calm down a bit and I can get back to my
motorcyle politickin' and the rest can do what it is, they do.. Did I
mention, I have almost become a TV personality with some of the speeches I
been doing.. LOL what a joke... See you out and about, Fullstate..

Well I probably would not realistically take it up there. I usually
leave on short notice (not enough time to drive) and once I am there I
work more than anything. Besides, ever try to get your bike into a
hotel room up a flight of stairs?

A TV Personality? Really? Are you sure you aren't delusional? lol
I have been gone for too long. I just watched the local news last
night for the first time in over two weeks.

I can setup kill filters and all kinds of stuff. I guess it is really
up to the ISPs or owners of the NNTP servers to decide whether or not
to moderate the group and who those moderators will be.

I am personably not in favor of that type of system and would complain
to my ISP if they start moderating the group.

Sometimes you take the bad with the good.

That's crazy! Would liked to have seen it, though. You should have
taken pics or a video or something.

I've been lucky that I either get a ground-floor room and take the
bike in, or the hotel staff has even let me put it right on the
sidewalk in front of the main entrance (under the awnings). I never
had too much problem with it.

I'd be more than happy to let it die...as long as there's no more
"sniping". As long as these turds keep it up, we'll keep going. I
don't mind if they don't.

All this crying they keep doing when someone responds in kind about
"ad hominem" attacks is rediculous when you look back and see who said
what...then find out the people crying about attacks are the one's who
keep at it.

I have been trying to get one sent for about a week now and all it did was
stir up a wild fire on here.
I now have the wife hunting me and the truck and I have someone
