Which bike?

Right, well I've phoned my local Yamaha dealer who's announced the only
FZ1 in stock was sold yesterday.

I'm going to have a look at the R1s again. I'm going to need to test
ride one though because the last one I had, with the exception of Monz's
Gixxer, was the most uncomfortable bike I'd ever ridden. I'm not saying
I'm going to buy one but my 5PW R1 to me had an awesome engine
everywhere so if what you say about the FZ is true, I don't know how
they could've fucked it up.

Maybe the way forward is to put a R1 top end on it or get the power back
via a Powercommander if they retuned it via he ECU.

 

Certainly worth looking into. Or you could do a top yoke conversion on an
R1 and put straight bars on it. Nah, that would look fucking stupid unless
you took the fairing off. I suppose the money raised from selling the
fairing could pay for the conversion...

 

I think the R1's pretty much out of the running now, I'd want one that
was newer than my last one and they're all the thick end of five grand-
I do want a bit to play with.

You know, the more I look at it the more I'm starting to fall under the
charms of the FZ and onyerbike have a 0% sale on. Only problem is the
best deals are on the yellow ones and I want a black.

I'm getting a test on one in a couple of days but they've not no black
ones 'till the end of the month. Cunts.

 

Maybe not such a bad thing - it'll give you time to test other bikes. Why
not have a go on a Z1000? Not the same power as the FZ1 and obviously
nowhere near as sexy but for the sake of comparison...

 

I've had a short little twindle[1] on two Z thous a year or two ago and
can't really remember what they were like. I only remember thinking they
were better handling than my ratbike but that's not really a good
benchmark

Much to my amazement, work have given me Saturday off the the test ride
I wasn't going to have could well be back on again, assuming it's not
fully booked and they'll let me go on others.

I would suggest a KTM Superduke in black as they look mental, but
you'd need another grand on your budget.

Cool, fortunately I don't work Sa/Su - I guess I'm lucky. I hope the
weather holds out into the weekend - I still have 5mm of chicken strips to
get rid of.

and AOL to the chicken strips but now it's getting warm enough to do it

Heh, it's funny how you *need* 150bhp once you've had it innit? I'm the
same. The SV at 105 horse at the wheel felt fun-*ish* but now having ridden
the R1 for a couple o' hundred miles, well, it was frankly shite. **** -
I'd best not have a go on a *fast* bike. Aaaaargh!

 

As I said to the guy in the bike shop the other day.. Riding a 10R has
made the ZRX handle like a picnic table.

120 odd bhp, which is enough for a naked. And they're light.

Buy another sportsbike if you want out-right power.
