just got back from Narnia. Tilda Swinton, hmmmm....there was something
a bit nice about the last battle scene, but I'm probably a very sick bunny.

However, it was sub zero and my gloves are just not up to it. So cue
thread on good winter gloves. Actually, thinking about it, heated grips
is probably the only real answer :(

    Likewise. Just got back too.

I'd get her to limit the 'turned to stone' magic to one part of my
    anatomy only ;)

Fucking heated grips, who needs fucking heated grips?

You are a bunch of fucking big girls blouses the fucking lot of you.
There is me wiv me svelte arteries and I can fucking manage with a good
pair of winter glubs and hardly cry at all on winter journeys unless
they are over 10 minutes long so what is your fucking problem eh?

Are them heat grips all they are cracked up to be and more important,
will they transfer neatly around my stable on a needs basis?

My bike came with factory fitted jobs. I like them. I can wear a lighter
pair of gloves in all but the coldest weather.

Also on the Busters site is a pair of Velcro wraparound thingies which
might be transferable from bike to bike.

I can only comment on the Oxford Hot Grips, as theyre the only ones Ive
used, but they are pretty damn good. I can only stand about 25-30 minutes
in really cold weather before my forearms start cramping with the effort of
    moving numb fingers.

The Hot Grips have releived this, although if youre doing town riding, you
do tend to end up with rather cooked palms, with your finger tips still
chilly. Although a lot less than if they werent there..

On motorway journeys, when you can wrap your hand around the grip entirely,
    they rock.

I sugest sir needs a pair of the Hot Hands if you want to move them from
    bike to bike.

Mine are just wired directly to the battery, so an absolute doddle to move
if you do the same with the hot hands...

That is a good idea. Especially on touring bikes.

An idea that doesn't get me leaping up and down with excitement, it has
    to be said.

  12. Normal heated grips are shite. They wear out or the wire snaps, plus
they can be a pain to fit.

    Google for warmfit heated inserts.

I've had the same pair for ~15 years and they've been swapped over and
    over between bikes.

  16. The delights of making yer own...

" Then I had the length of wire to use. A safe and easy procedure to
use. Only one thing to remember, the visor is cooled down all the time
and kneepads is insulated, from the cold by layers of clothing. I once
had a partial short circuit in one of my kneepads. I still have some
small sharp brown lines in one kneecap. When I felt the heath it was too
late already to pull the plug. haakon#626 (Norway, F650GS)"
