Beats my five or six on the M1 on the way to the Roger Albert Clarke
rally last year (which we didn't get to). Which reminds me that it is
26/27/28th November this year. Off to Langdale on the Saturday.

It added an hour to my normal journey. Cagers were going nowhere.

Those gantry information signs are frikkin useless. They did indeed say
M4 closed junctions 6 - 5, but no advice about what to do. I rocked up
to junction 6, hoping it would be open by the time I got to it, but no
such luck. The diversion (which I didn't follow) then led everyone back
onto to the M4 westbound, back to junction 7 to join some other endless
    queue to nowhere.

One of my lads acquaintances was caught up in the gas explosion in Salford
the other day. He got a spot on Sky News for his trouble. And a couple of
nights at a hotel rather than being tucked up at home in his own flea-pit.
    Professionals at work eh?

Someone mentioned the bike show this week and I think back to the only one I
went to the one in Birmingham. We were stuck on the fucking M6 for 9 hours
on the way home. Never a-fucking-gain.

M6 is for emergency evacuation only AFAIC

I shall probably be going on the look out for Shiver accessories (I've
been advised to get crash bobbins - particularly for the frame just
above the motor). My old gimmer's Centro pass will come in very handy.

And they've followed up by closing the M1 for ten hours:

    What? They don't have bulldozers?

When did this madness start? It used to be imperative that the road was
    opened as quickly as possible

Would you have been happy if the first plod to the scene had dragged
you 25 yards and slung you into the weeds after your crash fucked up
    the A1/M25 junction?

This was the crash that caused a nice long tailback on the A1 that
would have made a lot of people late for work costing them and their
    businesses hard cash.

No not at all. It is fine and in the company of the stolen toilets from
    the station.

At a guess, at the same time someone decided there was no such thing as
    an accident anymore.

Is there a difference when you're sitting there going nowhere and
losing money? I was lucky because I was able to filter around the mess
    but others couldn't.

    Rocks in glass houses etc.

    I don't fancy doing the M6 on a bike and I certainly don't fancy leaving a
    bike parked in Brum.

And trains? Aren't they for poor people?

Which is not as stupid as it first seems - in reality there's very, very
rarely anything accidental about an accident. It's not a word that's
been used on the railway for a long time.
