    Valuation please :)

    Both GPZ Turbos

US bike, mint - asking price 1950
UK bike, average condition, but running - asking price 950

Probably going to go for the second bike as a winter project. Assume
both have MOTs and engines/turbos are ok. I've not viewed the bikes or
got pictures so these are the only details I have.

Not seen many turbos for sale, so not really got any guide prices to go
    on at all.

    BTW that CX650 is ugly!

Not a bad at all. By strange coincidence, I got offered an XN85 last
weekend. A pretty rare beast these days.

  4. Rule no. 1 on internet auctions:
If something looks too good to be true, it probably is.

    Is the seller using PayPal?
If no, forget it - if you pay and it's a fraud, your money's lost.

Don't. Buy the US bike and save yourself a shedload of potential
hassle. Better still, buy both, and salt away some of the essential
components from the UK bike, which you'll break. Haggle it down to ukp
    800. As has been pointed out, a hell of a lot of Turbo components look
identical to stock GPz750 but aren't, and you'll clean up on Ebay.

Brakes, FI equipment, suspension, fairing components - you name it.
    It'll all fetch good money.

Cash on collection. Give it a good old sniff-over when you show up to
    pay, what's to lose?

  7. I nearly bought one of them once. But the bloke wanted 800 notes, which was
more'n I wanted to spend, and it was smoky, which could've beena blown turbo
or could just have been oil seals somewhere.

Thus spake TOG@Toil unto the assembled multitudes:
I like the way the ad says "The current owner looks after this bike like a
child." Have you ever seen kids trying to maintain a motorcycle? :)

Also "He was concerned about having it's photo taken due to it raining..."

Electrics must be a bit suss, then :)
