WHY I had time to post the Dublin run page...

I finally got the time to post the page about that run due to a slight
    mishap I had Sunday.

I came back from running to the store to pick up some munchies and pulled
    into the garage.

As I was getting off the bike I am suddenly looking at the garage floor
coming closer. Having made a 1 point landing last year and not enjoying
the result I was able to make a 'softer' landing on the arm and ribcage.

Uh, it hurt some. Later in the afternoon I went to one of the doc-in-a-
box emergency care places and found out that I had cracked a couple ribs.

After X-rays, CT scans, poking and probing it was confirmed that yes, I
cracked and 7th and 8th ribs on my right side. I now have get to have
excruciating experiences of breathing and rolling over in my sleep.

The good part is the better-living-through-chemistry part which makes me
not care that I'm feeling pain.

The fun-poking door is now open - take you best shots - FRIENDS!

Nope, You won't get any cheap shots from me. I've had an unscheduled
getoff a time or two in my past. Enjoy the good drugs, heal fast, and
ride safe. Oh - and in the next week don't let any fat girls hug you..

Bill Cantell, the good part of your bad luck, is''you had a wreck in
your own garage, and you dont have to call any one, like Brian to haul
    your motorsikel some place.

Seriously, I did that very same thing about two years ago. The good
thing was I wasn't on the big ass Valk, I was on a 750Shadow. I was
about to ride out, and needed to get back off, to go back in the house,
but forgot to use the kick stand, I thought (I guess?) it was down..we
just 'eased slowly down'....It didnt hurt anything on the bike or on me.

I hate you hurt your 'ribs'' that is a painful healing process. Good
    luck......MrJayT=

Thank you sir, your compassion will be recorded in Heaven. Even Mr.JayT's
    kindness and counsel will too.

That worst part about it is the embarrassment. I keep thinking of my 11
month old grandson who is getting pretty good at walking now. I wonder
how his folks will take to me teaching him how to walk?!?

Seriously, you might want to curtail the riding for a few months. Hate to
see another spill jam those ribs through something vital.

I think its them damed ole Harleys falling apart on you. Did you check
to make sure the kickstand didnt break or bend...make sure the back
tire didnt fall off which caused the bike to get off balance...make
sure the crankshaft didnt bend and cause alot more vibration which
might have caused you to loose the feeling in your legs so that you
couldnt feel your feet on the garage floor......ect.....

Buy a Honda next time and see if your getoffs are reduced ....

'preciate it chief. I'm thinkin i'm gonna go get some grief counseling
to better handle the guys thinking that my Harley is falling apart and is
    the cause of it. ;-)

I know you're right - and my wife and the doctor and a couple other
friends but it seems almost criminal not to be out riding on days like
today (now that it's cleared up).

Maybe you could get one of those big inflatable Sumo wrestler costumes
to wear around. Weebles wobble but they don't fall down!

    :) Heal quick!
