If it's a normal handbag with a long strap just across over your head and
across your chest as you normally would wear it, make sure it matches the
    bike's colours tho.
A small evening type purse I jam into the boot.

  5. Never noticed my 900 Trophy as being particularly hot to ride, but then I
only had the ill-handling, pipe-scraping barge for 6 months.

  11. I sometimes unzip the jacket about half way to get a bit of extra airflow
    if
In the worst heat, I open the visor on my helmet (I have shatter reistant
plastic cycling glasses for eye protection on though - they look a bit gay,
but you don't want a stone in your eye (or even a bug for that matter)),
unzip my jacket about 3/4 of the way, unzip the sleeve ends (but leave the
clips closed) and open up the arm bands on my gloves. This gets a fair bit
of air through (and I am wearing full leathers, even in the middle of
summer) and keeps me pretty cool (so long as I am moving) on all but the
very hottest of days. On the days when the wind is hot, you're better off
keeping everything closed and thinking about the health benefits of so much
sweating. (I can only think of one better way to sweat that much, and I
can't do that one on the way home from work.)
Magnetic tank bags are great, but be a little bit careful with putting
excessive weight in them. They're only designed for pretty light stuff (I've
seen what some of you women put in your handbags!) and if you put too much
weight in them, the will slide around, scratching your tank, and risking the
bag falling off, or upsetting the weight balance in the middle of a corner
    (when you least need it).

I use a tankbag on my ZXR, but it's a bagster type, not a magnetic one, so
it doesn't slide around at all.

On the ZX10 I use a set bag. They can be a little bit fiddly to fit, and so
aren't as easy to take with you when you hop off the bike, but I use it to
hold my laptop etc when I'm riding. It's stable, and holds a decent amount
    of stuff.

If you need even more space, (and one day you will), you'll be wanting a
rack. Rack bags are very good. They hold lots of stuff (think of it as a
handbag all of it's own, but without quite as many compartments).

  13. As a new learner rider, with a meshtex jacket and a cross between a road
    and
What sort of helmet (brand and model) have you got? Some helmets are MUCH
    better ventilated than others.

I've got a good helmet these days (can't rember what it's called - someone
help me here - current top of the line Shoei) and it's well ventilated,
which makes a big difference to my head temperatute. One of my first helmets
though was an elcheapo THH. I bought it as a spare, but ended up using a
couple of times when my pillions head was too big for it and needed to use
the (slightly larger) shark. That nasty helmet was hot even in the middle of
    winter!
It's a bit of a case of getting used to it. There are ways to mitigate it a
bit (see my other post), but it's kinda part of the whole motorcycling deal
    in summer.
Excellent. That's what we like to hear!!!
I usually put her on the pillion seat. ;-)

But seriously, do you have any underseat storage? How big a handbag are we
talking here? (Are we talking purse and some tissues, or purse, box of
tissues, 2L bottle of water, 3 months supply of army rations, six changes of
clothes, small European protectorate, etc etc)

nah people weren't sick was only 47.5 degrees

nothing like feeling like you are in the furnace when the wind is hot
and riding along and the fan is running non stop despite travelling at 80
