Wildly off-topic mini-rant about Egg

Yep, for reasons I never got to the bottom of my Halifax cards just
wouldn't work in Malta. Halifax confirmed on the phone no blocking so
serrate card with different bank is a sensible policy.

 

Hah. I've only done it once and remembered before it was too late to go
back.

I usually have 2x credit cards plus a debit card in my wallet. If I'm
taking a vehicle I usually secrete another card somewhere. I haven't always
remembered to retrieve the secreted card and I think I sold my Mazda MX6
with a Goldfish card in the spare wheel well. Fortunately, nobody used it
and I got a letter asking if I really wanted them to renew the card as I
didn't seem to use it.

 

I've still got the other card, just don't use it (except when Amex isn't
accepted)

Heh. I went to Munich once with no cash or cards. Luckily someone was
meeting me at the airport.
