Will this kill my battery?

  2. Better with a 5W one as a minimum. Remember, the rated output of these
    things is based on very sunny days in Arizona/Gobi Desert. A 5W one will
    still put something useful into the battery even on a shit winter's day.


    From my own 5W panel

    Shit winter day ~50mA
    Spring sunny but overcast day ~180mA
    Full-on summer's day ~350mA (~4.2W)

    All at nominal 12V
    The max of 5W is never reached, which tallies with my expection.

    I rarely use my car and have one of these plugged into the lighter
    socket, I don't remember what the power o/p is, though

    It does what it says on the tin

  6. Exactly; what kills an automotive L/A battery surest is deep discharge,
    as little as three times for some.
    That's about it.
