Ok, ok, it's not nice being able not to ride your bike.

As it is, I am able and going to
    :)

The skiing was lovely this week. Does that help?

Do you want to borrow my outfit for a couple of weeks? I've just
fitted heated grips to it so you're pinkies will stay warm and it's
not as bad as you'd expect unless you forget it's a bit wider than
    your Wing.

I've been fitting RSJs, ripping up floorboards & scraping polystyrene
tiles off a ceiling. That should make you feel better.

Well, I haven't Two rides in drizzle on mucky roads last week and
that's about it for almost a month.

Today I was mostly dicking around with the Guzzi: sorted the coarse
throttle balance adjustment; checked the valves and did the fine
throttle balance. Checked the alternator output - absolutely fine,
checked the wiring loom - looks supeficially OK. So the charging fault
could be the regulator or a connector to it.

I also drained the oil, bled the front brakes (making a right pig's
ear of the job, but it's done now). Stuck a bit of masking tape over
the ignition lock to remind me the engine has no oil: I couldn't
remember at the time if the oil filter also needed changing this time,
which is why I left it half done: I need to dig out the service chart
    (I'm on lap 2).

The oil filter is a horrible job that involves dropping the sump.
    Blech.

No thank you. Very kind of you to offer, and all that, but ...

    1. It's the hand that's stopping me, not the lack of a bike.
    2. If I ever pilot an outfit again, it'll be too soon.
    3. If the hand was working, I'd have taken advantage of Honda's test
    ride day.
    4. And probably bought something by now.
    5. Another week, I reckon, possibly two.

Those of us who have been riding all winter are having a quiet smirk at the
"First Ride of the Year" posts.

    Too bloody slowly.

It'll all be good, soon. Probably.

Hand is still swollen around the index finger knuckle, and gives pain
occasionally. Movement is quite limited. I reckon it'll be fine in two
weeks. Doctor at fracture clinic similarly minded.

Toes are almost good to go. They get a bit squished in boots, but
otherwise fine. Okay by next week.

I've been riding all winter. Today was the first day with weather worth
riding in. Isn't one of your fellow snow-monkeys among the people
    posting about their first rides?
