This will be the great Scottish dream where they still pursue people for
poll tax 20 years later and you jump to the tune of Alex the Salmon. Oh how
    delightful.

Perhaps it could be celebrated with a £250M extension to the wonderful
    Parliament building.

What's the disparity between revenue from North Sea oil reserves and the
money we hand over to the five million dole monkeys north of the border?

Scotland starts in a line North of the Glasgow-Edinburgh central belt IMHO
and is a rather nice place. Below The Line it's more like the north of
    England.

You know full well that's the Highlands. I might as well claim that
England is the bit below a line drawn from Bristol to The Wash and
everything north of that is basically Wales.

  8. Oh the irony. Two things:

Scotland wouldn't be able to afford all it's nice social benefits
without England paying them. Which is why the SNP leadership doesn't
push *too* hard for full independance.

I've seen far more racism towards the English in Scotland than I've
ever seen towards the Scots in England.

And I'm somebody who thinks a federal UK would be a good thing. As long
as England isn't expected to pay for the other countries[1] political
    leanings..

And we'll all have to play banjo and listen to Billy fucking Connelly.
Why stop there? With all the oil money they'll be able to afford a small
extension to the Glasgow land fill site. They can call it "Edinburgh 2"

  13. He probably doesn't want to hear them going on and on and on and on and
on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on
and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on
and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on
and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on
and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on
and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on
about it if they win it...
.... until everybody's fucking sick to the back teeth of it and it makes
those who go on about it look like sad cunts.

Only geographically. Cross the Sark at Gretna (going north, obviously)
and the accent becomes so thick it's practically impenetrable, like
there's an attitude of "we're so close to England we have to be more
Scottish than anyone else". I've known Weegies and Orcadians whose
accent (and general demeanour) wasn't as brutal as it is just over the
    border.

  18. They're not still, are they? FFS, I thought a debt was dead if there had
been no activity on it, or trace of the debtor, for fifteen years.
