I could post the overall championship totals... but you prob wouldn't like
    that either would you...

I'm just saying it must be nice knowing Nicky is your world champion by not
winning.. and not being better than anyone else on the tract come race
    day...
    There's something to praise.

how many world champions win the last race?
It's the whole season that counts, not one race.
After Rossi fell, the MOST important thing for Nicki was to not screw up and
hand the championship back to Rossi.
If you don't get this, there's no help for you.

"It's the whole season that counts, not one race." That's true.. Yamaha
produced a bad bike this year..but don't expect it to happen again..

"After Rossi fell, the MOST important thing for Nicki was to not screw up
    and
hand the championship back to Rossi." Kind of contradicts what you've just
said..? If Nicky's season had been so great why would he have to worry about
the result in the last race. How many of Rossis championships have gone down
    to the last race ?

Most Americans I have spoken to... and these views are even expressed by
Nickys family and friends.. this will proberbly be his one and only year of
taking the championship.. and he did..

So enjoy it till March !

Don't get me wrong.. I like to see Americans win.. I just think Nicky's
season hasn't been dynamic.. its just been average... take a look at the
points he added up this season (2006)

    1st. Niky - 252
    2nd. Rossi - 247
    3rd. Capirossi - 229

    2005

    1st. Rossi - 367
    2nd. Meladri - 220
    3rd.Hayden - 206

    2004

    1st. Rossi - 304
    2nd. Gibernau - 257
    9th. Hayden - 116

    2003

    1st. Rossi - 357
    2nd. Gibernau - 277
    3rd. Biaggi - 228

The stats speak for themselves... this is the 1st year in ages that Rossi
hasn't walked it... do you think that is because Nicky has become better..?
or because his bike has failed him 3 times when he was in a winning
position.. that alone cost him 75 points.. which would bring him up to 322
points... which is about his average..

But I know that's not how championships are won.. you have to be consistant
to win... which Rossi noramlly is.
Nicky won at Assen.. and that was it..

    1- win
    3 - 2nd places
    5 - 3rd places

    Rossi had...

    4 - wins
    4 - 2nd places
    1 - 3rd place

I'm not bitter about this at all.... I just feel that sometimes when they
change the way the points system works.. it benefits the guy that finishes
lower down some time.. like this season.. But I also understand how they now
aim to reward someone for being consistent.. but that doesn't make them the
    better or best...
