    I had no trouble with folks not speaking English. The only problem I have is
    that everyone abroad seems to assume that I'm German...

    Calleta is bad, but IMO Corralejo is worse now...
    I was there a year ago. Fucking briefly before we got back in the car and
    fucked off. It's shit. Like skeggy but in spain.

    IIRC we visited Gran Tarajal briefly, and that was pleasant and non-touristy
    with good restaurants and a black volcanic beach. Certainly anywhere much
    north of there is to be avoided.
