I'm not ruling out the Alpine. After all, honey, it's the Official
Aus.Moto Rally for this Queen's Birthday Weekend .

Charlie won't be up to beer wenching just yet, though ... give her a
    couple of years ...

    Leaving Melbourne CBD.

Take Calder Freeway (which becomes Calder Highway) to Bendigo 150 kms.

Turn left at fountain in centre of Bendigo at the lights near the
Bendigo Bank building (this is the continuation of the Calder Highway).

Continue along the Calder highway through Charlton, Ouyen (and several
other smaller towns) until you get to Mildura.

Follow Calder highway into mildura until you get to sturt street and
    turn right into Sturt street.

Continue along Sturt street until you get to 11th street and turn left
    into 11th street.

11th street will start as a divided road and get smaller and narrower
until finally the tar runs out, don't stop yet (don't worry if you see
signs calling the road Ranfurly, as this is an extension of 11th).

There will be a couple of dirt roads in front of you (1 loops around the
river and around the back of the mildura speedway track where the rally
is and the other goes to the main gate. Take the one to the main gate.

*From any other direction find the numbered streets all through mildura
and count them up or down until you get to 11th, then do as above except
if you come from the north side then turn right into 11th*

And this, laddies and lassies, is why the People's Committee for
Deciding To Go To A Different Rally Next Year convened and after lengthy
debate unanimously voted to go to a different rally next year, and thus
the Alpine Rally became the Official Aus.Motorcycles Queen's Birthday
Weekend Rally, and we went out for pizza. You can't fight progress, you
    know.

  14. I'll be at the Alpine. Have to check out big gregs sheep and the burning of
    the VW engine block.
