I left home on Friday mid afternoon to head up to Wintersun.

At Ouyen Jodie said Molly was too cold so I (quite happily) agreed to get a
motel room and crash the night in Ouyen and continue on next day (which
avoided trying to set up in the dark anyway).

Next morning Jodz decided it was too cold to spend the weekend at Wintersun
in a tent and wanted to go home.

I (quite unhappily) agreed to go home, so no... we didn't actually get to
    Wintersun.

No, because the motor registry would only give me an appointment for
June 19 to register my bike.

64 in a 60??? Holy dooley, what sort of bastards are they down there?

Moike, I know you will give me a straight answer and tell me if I am
just a gullible goose for believing somebody who told me this with a
straight face, BUT - is it true that in Vic, there was a time when the
tolerances for speed cams were set at 5kmh BELOW the speed limit?

betty, glad to be in canberra
    (apart from the ICE!!!!!!)

Last time I was in Vic I managed to attract a $128 fine for doing 104 in a
100 zone Betty. Got the ticket 6 weeks after I got home.

  18. No, but I went to the Winter Sunshine rally. Two days of lovely riding
in and around the Numimbah Valley. Had a ball and got the badge to prove
    it. :)

They contracted speed camera enforcement out to a private company, so like
all buisness's they are full of unethical practices, they have changed it so
they can issue speeding tickets 3km over the limit. Current radar equipment
has a 3km error margin. so techincally you can be doing spot on the speed
    limit and get a ticket!

In nsw we have a 10% tollerance.

    Nearly true.

They ping you if you exceed 10% but fine you for doing less than that.

That is, get pinged for doing 67 and the fine will say 64.

It is quite fair in that regard.

Hammo (except for the bit that it's contracted and they use the roads around
the corner from our place very regularly).

Speeds above 100 revert to 10%.

    Correct at time of posting.....
