Ok.... I've got the Friday and Tuesday off work. I have scraped together
some camping gear. I'm ready... (I think!)

I'll be catching up with some old friends on the way there and back - it's
the bit in the middle that makes me nervous!

Will be staying in Deniliquin on the Friday night, and, as per Moike's
suggestion, will go to Echuca and then along the Murray on Saturday morning.
Not sure how long that will take.

BTH's Unaugural was a fabulous intro to rallies - but I know Wintersun is
going to be bigger and more crowded, and with a lot more strangers. I've
committed to going, but I can already feel the anxiety levels going up, and
feel myself trying to make excuses not to go. (Same happened before the
Unaugural...but I can be very tough on myself.)

I'm not sure which aus.motians are going, apart from BTH and Johno (you guys
ARE still going, right?) How will I know where to go to find you when I get
there? (This is the bit that scares me the most - the thought of getting
there and seeing hordes of people I don't know, and not being able to find
    anyone that I DO know!)

Peter, I reckon you were so brave to go to the Unaugural without having met
anybody! (Then again, considering what you do for a living, how scary can a
few strangers at ground level be????<grin>)

I'm following much the same route as 2004, which was:

    Canberra-Yass-Harden-Temora-Ardlethan-Griffith-Hay-Balranald-Robinvale-
Mildura, with an overnight stop in Griffith. A total of about 820km.
If I'm making good time on Thursday I'll see if I can make it to Hay
for the overnighter. I like to arrive on Friday night, partly to
claim a good campsite but mostly because this year I have to be up up
and away on Saturday morning (I'm booked in for a large-$$$ training
    course starting on the Tuesday).

If I'm really keen I'll come home via Tumut, and over the mountains to
the Brindabella/Cotter road. But I doubt it. ;-)

Oh poo - you mean I won't even catch up with you there? (I won't get there
till middle-Saturday). I didn't realise it was a Friday night thing as well.
Oh faaaark, you mean I'll be arriving in the middle of an established
    "event"..... oh crikey......

I'll be overnighting at Ardlethan on the way back. When you stop over at
are you going on the (not sure I remember the numbers...) CT90??? What a
    hoot!!!

I'll be coming home back along the Murray, then staying overnight at
Jerilderie (probably) on Sunday night, so I can meet an old uni girl friend
for lunch in Leeton on Monday, and overnight in Ardlethan. Home Tuesday in
time to do the washing before work on Wednesday....

    Me! 0429 907 329

In the unlikely event that I arrive first, I'll stake out the usual
    territory (and light the campfire).

Anyone know if Nifty is gonna be there?

Brilliant - Can somebody keep a space spare for me??? I don't think my tent
will take up much room (haven't actually tried it out yet - could be amusing
    <grin>.

Reckon I'll get there lunch-time-ish on Saturday, and will call one of you
to find you. If I haven't arrived by 3pm, can somebody try calling me on
0409 692 682??? (THAT will stop me chickening out, for sure....)

Oops, I meant SUNDAY morning! Sorry about that.
How about "no"? Is "no" good for you? ;-)
Yup. It looks just like this one:

    Phew, that's a relief!!!!
LOL - no is good!!!!! A one-finger salute might be even better, except I'm
Ah yes, a beautiful piece of machinery - you can see its soul, even in the
    piccy....
Hey yeah <grin>. Keep her chatting over brekky, and I'll catch up for lunch!
(You could end up overweight, BTH - hey Minx, do you have the
    'Post-Wintersun' diet-sheet ready????)

I'd like to be there, but I won't be able to ride a bike that far for a
    few more weeks.

Wintersun, first I have heard of it but I would like to give it a go though
things are a little crazy in my life at the moment. Did I mention I am
getting married in the first week of July? Work is also getting a little
crazy but I've been itching to go for another big burn. Still no sheep skin
but that won't stop me so maybe I might make it for the weekend though no
promises. I will SMS you BB and BTH if I can make the trip.

    3 settings of brake pads
    2 tyres
    2 sprockets
    1 chain
    1 baby sitter

    before Friday..

pity, I wanted to beat Nev in the spewing comp this year and polish my
hard luck award infront of Goaty

I'll be there with the other half on Friday arvo. Blue '02 ZX-12R (the one
with the graphics on the fairing) and a blue trailer. We won't be hard to
spot as we're bringing the tent that has it's own postcode (HUGE). Will
probably camp down near the entry gate, on the right in the grassed area.
The "crowd" won't be strangers for too long as we're all like minded bike
riders. It's not anxiety you're feeling, it's excitement. As for not being
able to find anyone that you do know, find some people you don't know and
then you'll know them. See ya there.

As for not being able to find anyone that you do know,

Eric Clapton Hello Old Friend Lyrics

    An old man passed me on the street today;
    I thought I knew him but I couldn't say.
I stopped to think if I could place his frame.
When he tipped his hat I knew his name.

    [Chorus:]
    Hello old friend,
It's really good to see you once again.
    Hello old friend,
It's really good to see you once again.

Minor surgery. Left a small crater in the middle of my back. Nothing
to worry about, just a bit painful for a while.
