That's unusual (well it is oop 'ere). There's normally a "grace" period of a
month or more where Plod monitors traffic at, or near the new limit and they
MAY pull you, but they don't prosecute.

After the grace period, it's game on as usual.

Good job you don't ride here Champ, coz the Bolton Plod have many sites
where they regularly have a group of plod sat waiting while another plod
points his tool at approaching motorists. Not a plastic plod in sight either
unless they let them ride Pan's or drive Scoobies and the like.
    And Bolton.

I've seen more than a handful in and around Cheltenham (or possibly
the same one moving about) over the years.

I've also seen two separate incidents of cars pulled over by police
bikes in the past fortnight. One was presumably because the van in
question was over and badly loaded in such a way as to rate a spot on
"Police Camera Action". They appeared to have mates in a following car
and as I was going along the A40, a police car which had been planning
to turn right off the A40 was trying to cut back across the two lanes
    to join the bike.

The second was this very afternoon, but if matey was pulled for
something naughty he probably deserves it for doing it right in front
    of the police station.
