    Hmm...

Well, I know two people very well who have worked for them in the past.
One was in tech support, the other in a pre-sales role. They both
describe their experience as hellish, with constant extreme pressure
from very poor management and measurement against bizarre metrics.

Maybe they were unlucky, maybe things have changed in the intervening
    five or so years.

I doubt it somewhat. I would rather drive an HGV all day than work
for a company like M$, HP et all.

A top notch software engineer with a doctorate for £20K !!!!

I'll be encouraging my kids to give up school at the earliest
opportunity if that's what they'll be earning after several years of me
    supporting them for their research.

    Ewww... Where was that, Nuremberg?

And surely someone at that level knows not to wear a pale blue shirt on
    stage?

    Meh, keep at it.

On a lighter note, I just got offered a job in Barrow on a TOP SECRET
PROJECT. I was told not to reveal what I'd be working on. Except it's
    fucking obvious, being Barrow.

Money is shit, pension is shit, Barrow is shit, no relocation
expenses, but I want a 40" Sony LCD TV, so I'll have to suck it up
    like a $2 whore.
