  4. Yes, well, what can you say apart from raving lunatic.
Thankfully our American bosses have not visited that sort of crap on us.
At least I can look up to Tim O'Toole (LUL MD) and I admire much of what
he says and how he says it.

  6. Yes there is that rather horrible messianic bullying tone to him isn't
there. If I was in the audience I'd get picked on by him as I'd be the
person not joining in with the demented ranting and clapping.

I had this sort of approach on a negotiation training course where the
tutor, whose temperament and style are the antithesis to mine, decided
I'd be his willing victim for the first and / or difficult question in
each session. This would allow him to be all superior and make me look
dim. Unfortunately he seemed not to appreciate that I could read his
body language all too readily. Oh and his attitude stank as did his
    views on equality.

I managed to throw senior management into a spin when I sent them a
memorandum of complaint about his behaviour which breached all of our
inclusion and equality policies (which he should have complied with
under the terms of his contract). He is now not invited to coach any of
our training sessions. I also refuse point blank to participate in any
course where he is going to be even remotely involved.
I sort of know what you mean but someone that powerful and influential
must have something going for him other than sheer force of personality.

  8. You never know your luck in the Big City -- I started with neither!
Keep an eye on the Brunel jobs page, or drop me an e-mail with an address
to remind you when it's advertised. (Closing date will probably be end
of October so it should go out swiftly.)

Hmm, this looks like something else, but closely related; perhaps
the new post is the second one mooted in the ad:

    http://www.brunel.ac.uk/about/job/cdata/research/dcl0221-1/

Starting salary would almost certainly be the low end,
    £19,640 pa plus £l,990 LWA = £21630 pa.

On the upside, you'll be on the doorstep of some of the finest biking
roads known to man, in a county that (so far) has no fixed Gatso
emplacements and (AFAIK) two camera vans, which always let you know
beforehand where they will be via the Cumbria Plod website.

Christ, I thought Carlisle was a shithole until I saw Barrow. You
poor bastard. Moneywise, I think you should be able to get a sub.
