Work: result

  1. I've got a holiday booked next week as part of the "if you don't take it
by the end March, you'll lose it" campaign.

I wasn't planning on doing anything much except maybe go out on my bike,
get drunk and post drivel to usenet.

I get back today and they say if I work next week, they'll pay me double
    time.

    Hmm...

    Decisions, decisions...

The drivers were egging me to go for three!

I said I'd think about it and let him know tomorrow.

I'm not normally one for overtime but that's because they normally ask
when I've already finished a day's work, this *will* be like a day's
    work.

I just have to make sure I'm not going to get royally stitched up and
    I'll do it.

Double bubble and a half + an extra week next year. After all you've made a
difficult to change booking haven't you?

Take the time off, you could use it to phone people up and practice your

TBH, I doubt they'll up the pay rate but the extra week is a good idea,
I'll ask about that and then if they say no I'll go for the 2 1/2.

  10. I'd take the leave every time - much more valuable in terms of your
    health and wellbeing.

Money certainly can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you lots of stuff.

If they do, I'm sure an HGV tank full of diesel could fetch a few quid...

This seems to be the consensus.

I think I've decided what I'm going to do now:

Work the week double time but take Monday off and make sure I get a week
    in lieu.
