Workshop fuel tank

    I'm sure I remember seeing something like a small fuel tank, that you
    could hang up above a bike while you're working on something that
    requires the tank to be removed but still needs a supply of petrol (e.g.
    carb balancing).

    Anybody know where I can get one? I don't think I've got anything lying
    around that I could bodge together to make one.

    There's a couple of problems with that:
    1. Despite having a double garage, I'm a bit short of space for getting
    around the bike that I'm working on;
    2. I haven't got any spare fuel line lying around;
    3. The bike currently in question needs two fuel lines (admittedly, that
    would be a problem anyway);
    4. The petrol tank also needs some TLC before it's suitable for
    containing petrol.
    Obviously. Or just get your glamourous assistant to suck on the vacuum
    connector.

  5. All I've ever done was sit the bike tank on the seat and use a longer
    O's.

    A gallon sized plastic bottle works (if you need a gallon, that is).
    Something that would normally contain such beverages as bleach or liquid
    soap. Clean it out (obviously) and poke a hole near the bottom but not AT
    the bottom, on the side with a scrrewdriver. NOT a drill. The screwdriver
    method forces the plastic into the bottle and it forms its own seal for the
    piece of fuel tubing that's rammed into the hole when the screwy's been
    pulled out.

    The bottles have a moulded in handle so you can hang it up and in all the
    years I've used the same bottle, it's never leaked a drop.

    You can also use one of those plastic petrol cans, but the plastic is harder
    to pierce.

    OK, so I'll bodge something. Need to find some suitable Os first, and
    some T-piece widgets.
