.... which would explain Honda UK's pricing policy. [1] Special Tool #07916 - 3710101 For the doing up and undoing of steering head bearings. A 4" deep 1/2" drive socket, wiv four prongs on it. Weighs a ton. Turns a right pain in the arse of a job, which is almost impossible to do properly, into a piece of cake. Also allows you to take up some 7 or 8 mm of slack in the bearings, to get them seated, which was *impossible* with an old C-spanner, or a drift and a hammer. You can even set the bloody things to the right torque. More good news? It fits the Blackbird, too. More? And the CBX. Plenty bargain. Test run tomorrow, I think: Cornwall/Devon/Dorset or Kent/Sussex/Hants? Not that much of a bargain! http://www.inter-bike.co.uk/inter-b...hstr=SGM1007&itemname=Castle Socket 26 + 30mm
The latter. Passed with flying colours. Down to Sandwich to snap the White Mill - an old windmill, that's been painted white. Met two other RBRers on Beemers. Neither had broken down. From there, a little cross-country jaunt down past Lydden and the M20 to the A28, then the A27 to Alfriston. The Lion and the market cross were easy to find, as Alfriston's not that big. Fended off a couple of old duffers who claimed the Wing wasn't like bikes in their day. No? Really? From there it was another long haul down the A27 to Findon, where I found the old toll house, and got a snap, darting across the road in the heavy traffic. Back on the A27 to Havant, to the little church with the gravewatcher's hut. Actually, it had two, so I snapped both. Apparently, they used to house nightwatchmen, who'd make sure that the likes of Burke and Hare didn't do their dirty deed in the churchyard. On the way I saw a caravan towing vehicle on its side for the second Sunday in a row. From there, a quick blat up the A3 to Chobham, to snap the cannon in the high street, then home. 301 miles, no wobbles, clunks, or notchiness. Luvvly. Last weekend, the movement of the bars under braking was not only tangible, but visible. Which was fun. Also, today saw two fill-ups. Both over £20. Together with two £20+ fill-ups last weekend, and £19.85 in the Blackbird on Friday, it's not been a cheap week, petrol-wise. -- | ___ Salad Dodger |/ \ _/_____\_ GL1500SEV/CBR1100XXX/CBX1000Z |_\_____/_| ..81108../..22119.../..31893. .... and another thing. To the daft bint in the Corsa on the way to Sandwich - it's *MIRROR*, signal, manouvre when overtaking a tractor. Then you might *just* see the GoldWing that's passed six cars already before you pull out. Oh well, at least I now know the brakes and horn work, too. -- | ___ Salad Dodger |/ \ _/_____\_ GL1500SEV/CBR1100XXX/CBX1000Z |_\_____/_| ..81108../..22119.../..31893.
