  1. Today's Evening Standard has a story about Prince William causing
worries by riding his "160MPH superbike".

Complete with a photo apparently of him with a *completely* illegal dark
    visor.

    Good lad.

Wasn't he spotted with a dark visor on a CBR600 with a guard on some other
    machine

Just passed a copy in the supermarket. Being a pikey I just took a photo
    rather than buy the paper.

I love the way they imply that riding a bike is more dangerous than anything
else he might do , such as being in the army for example.

You know *why* he was wearing a dark visor though. It's all there in the
    headline.

Rash fears or William. Keep the spotty **** under wraps.

The security plod behind him is riding a beemer. The worry being that
he'll break down and get left behind?

  11. And not wearing leather jeans either. He'll be getting an award from
    Blaney.

  12. Nah - but what a nightmare - check yer wing mirrors and there's a
copper there everytime. That's enough to make a bloke paranoid [1] :)

[1] Although I suspect that it might be a different story if you're a
local prince... The decisions to be made at the local plod shop when
the Buck Palace address rolls out of the auto-piggy bank / NIP issuer
machine would be interesting to watch I suspect.

The army isn't going to be dangerous for him - just the poor bastards
who will have to surround him if he actually goes outside the UK.

To be fair, I don't think that will be completely the case. When Price
Andrew was in the Falklands, he didn't have any extra protection.

Andrew can't be equated to William though - he was only the spare.
Besides, times have moved on - being killed in combat is one thing,
but Al Quaeda/whoever getting hold of the heir or the spare and being
able to parade/execute/torture them on TV would be a massive coup.
Especially if it's William, given there still appears to be a vocal
pro-Dozy Di support group - would you want to be the government that
had to stick to the "no negotiations" line with her precious son in
danger? The Daily "Still stuck in 1997" Express would have a field
day, barely a week goes by even now without them trying to dredge up
    the old conspiracy theory again.

**** 'em if they don't like it. He's as entitled to choose the army as
a career as the next man.

I'm no admirer of the royal shamily but at least Prince Andrew refused
to take any escape from action options when he was a helicopter pilot.
