Some random observations I made during race 1:

    * The Honda Fireblade does not need coolant. Without it, the pistons
    will not seize.

    * Did the marshals go inside to get warm? It looks like blue flags
    were not used.
Lapped riders, like Xaus, were taken by complete surprise, and were
    holding up
    the leaders.

    * Races in the rain really show experience levels. Bayliss rode like a
    robot, not
making mistakes. While his pursuers had occasional slips, Troy
    looked rocksolid.
He made it look easy, being in full control of the bike.

    * Nori Haga's lean angle is not affected by rain. He's the only rider
    to push
his bike flat. All the others kept theirs much more upright.

    * I was pleasantly surprised that Eurosport seems to have dropped in-
    race
    commercials.

    * JT has fighting spirit.

  2. Must be a Aussie thing, Westy is near +35s, if the race went long
enough he could lap the field.....

Why has this guy not have a factory ride, [They WILL sit up and take
notice after this display, have no fear] & only 2nd time on a SS bike,
and made them all look like spastics

Not bad from a country that is in major drought...........

Ten Kate have Castrol sponsorship - whatever the oil, it seemed to work
exceptionally well in Toseland's bike, if it really was drained of
coolant. And it certainly looked as if it was!

There was a pour of fluid as he picked it up but I doubt the cooling
system was drained of fluid, no race motor or any motor could survive
    without cooling under race conditions

West (Aussie) wins Superstock and Brooks (Aussie) was 2nd untill he
eventually binned it . Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!!!!!

Oh... but it was completely drained.
Look at the footage... the bulk of the fluid was expelled
    when the engine was re-started.

And it was clearly visible from the footage that the last
remaining fluid was expelled from the engine on the
straight at full RPM. James was cleaning the spray
and steam from his visor. And that was not rainwater.

I think the engine was saved by evaporating the rain
water that touched it. Evaporation consumes a lot of
    heat.

  7. Has he abandoned 250 GP or is he running parallel?

BTW, what's with Eurosport? Every time I try to go to
www.eurosport.com I end up at yahoo!
    But I am...

Not sure either but sure is good to see him (West) get a win in any
International class, lets hope he finally lands a ride with a team
that can give him a race winning bike and we finally see just how
    talented he really is.

  9. Thanks, Neal. I usually try to go to .com because .co.uk lands
at British Eurosport which is different to the Eurosport I'm used to on
    the Continong.

..co.uk takes me to their new Yahoo branded site. Like Ivan I want the
Eurosport International tv listings, because I'm a cheapskate and have
Eurosport free on analogue satellite, which is the pan-european
version. With the new web site, even if I set my country preference to
international, I still get the British Eurosport tv schedule. However
I have found the international tv listings still exist at:

    http://www.eurostc.com/tvschedule_clng0.shtml

    Cheers,

Have you ever been to Silverstone? There *is* no inside for the
marshals to escape from the windswept, god-forsaken place. I live
only six miles down the road but it is one track I don't bother
    spectating at.
