  6. A bloke at work is trying to coerce me into buying his ZRX1200 (Remus
    pipe,Ventura rack,naked girlie tank protector).
He even drove home this morning and swapped to the Kwaka so I'd have to see
it on the way out of the bike shed...(and he's over every half hour or so to
ask if I have the deposit yet)
I'm *not* buying it...but it's got me thinking about the 900 Hornet at
Stoney Creek Motorcycles (which I pass several times a day).
    Must...keep...Transalp...
    Must...not...buy...another...bike...

    Must be me :)

People who ride bikes with <cough> character seem to be high on the weird
    scale :p
They always seem to be talking about how much character their bike has...
you would nearly think it talks to them - LOL

Ahh, but I admit my mistakes.... It was only the proverbial dogs dick for a
very short period of time :)

The TRX is the most overrated twin in recent bike history.

YOu mean yours doesn't to you?

The Devil talks to me alright! "Call that a corner? Come on find
something decent. Hah! slow as a wet week you! You know I can go
round there much faster than that, damn wetware always holding me back.
Mother of God! Open the throttle, stop pussyfooting about, you are a
disgrace to the world of motorcycling, I don't know how I got stuck with
you! Pass that bus or I'll break your ankle on the next kickstart."

Or maybe it's just Italian motorcycles that get chatty?

    Not quite.

"Full on racers" may be a subset of the A and B groups, but are they the
entirety of the ones into improving lap times?

I think Big used to time his laps for example.

OK, fine.... I was trying for a generalisation to cover a particular
group. It may not be exact. <shrug>

The original statement, that I was trying to disagree with was:

There are riders, who do track days, who have a "comfort zone" which
translates to a fairly consistant lap time. These riders, given a more
capable bike, will not automatically do faster lap times.

How do I characterise those riders. Well, it didn't work as "average"
track day riders, as opposed to the full-on racers, so how about, riders
who are operating their current bikes at under 80% of the bikes
    capabilities?
Dunno. My impression, FWIW, of Iain was the he rides using his brain.

It seemed to me that he was using pretty much _all_ of the Spada's
performance, and had devoted a fair amount of thought and logic to how
to go round the Creek as quickly as possible. This being compared to
the "take a handfull of brave pills" approach.

BTW, the group for which I believe Richard's original statement to be
false for, may well take lap times and _want_ to reduce them.

  19. I wish... I'm pretty sure it could've done sub 2 minute laps if I didn't
keep screwing things up... I'm still _seriously_ considering getting
another one at least partly to keep trying for that elusive 2:00...
