Is this as a toy, or will it get used 'for real'?
If a toy, then it will be fine for you, but otherwise, forget it.

    Secondhand, try :

You should leave the safety catch on until you are ready to post.

    The general 'for sale' forum.
The Crosman is a CO2 rifle. They are rubbish. Really. OK for tin cans in
the garden, but not good enough to shoot rats with IMO.
They are inaccurate, and with the CO2 powering it, are inconsistent with
    their power.

A decent spring rifle would be far better for both accuracy and resale
value. Air Arms TX200's go for £150ish, BSA Lightnings for £100ish.
Anything cheaper than that will not be very good.
    For rats, go for .22.
..177 are generally more accurate, and have less of a 'curved' flight.
e.g., a target will be spot on at 25yards in .22, at 40 yards, you will
have to aim nearly an inch higher to hit the same target.

Weirauch HW35, HW80 or even HW77. Cheaper and far more effective. My
borther's girlfriend is now an 'ace'. Got her 6th squirrel the other day.
Along with a Jay. Brother is still wondering what to do with the herons
eating his Koi, using a method which would keep him out ofcourt obviously.

  11. He's Welsh don't you know, and lives in Wales iirc... anything he will be
shooting at (with or without aiming) will therefore also be Welsh.

See the method behind my madness now ?

    Very fair point.

You really don't want to try rapid fire. Honestly. Trust me on this.

    Give it a blunt beak.
Weld up a frame, cover with chicken wire mesh.
Chickenwire pond cover. Works just fine here.

Fake fish. A big, juicy decoy koi, floating in the centre of the pond,
andchored to a big weight. By the time the heron has failed to fly off with
the fake, all the real ones have made themselves scarce.

  16. Ironically my grandad (who is now as deaf as a post) spent 36 years in the
RAF and was based all over the world, was the first british person to fire
    an ICBM.
He worked on Blue Steel's predecesors at Edwards AFB and Vandenberg (sp?) in
the US in the early 50's.
He also worked on ejector seat propulsion and lots of other early rocket
    based stuff.

He was also a Robert Brown like his father of E11 Fame -

  17. That's just up the road from here. If you ever get over, do shout.

Although, I may be heading towards the mid west some time in the not too
    distant.

  18. The office is about 40 mins north of Chicago. Hopefully that will be the
last stop before heading back to NL. The plans just got a bit less firm
though, so I'm not holding my breath yet.

  19. We kept the herons away from our koi carp pond by putting a realistic
plastic heron next to it. Herons are very territorial and steered clear.
My have scared the koi carp a touch.

aha! So you do work for who I thought you worked for.

Got to love a company that made cash payments to Himmler, part-funded
the development of Focke-Wulf aircraft and bank-rolled the overthrow
of Salvador Allende's democratically elected government and installed
Pinochet as dictator in Chile in 1973.

having said that, we owned one of their "music centres" back in the
    '70s.
