Deliberate misnomer in the title. HTH.

Probably thought that nobody would pronounce Betelgeuse properly so
spelt the film title as you'd say it.

So, two answers, both the same. Still begs the question "why?".
Insulting the audience IYAM. Ho hum.

CF : the film version of the play "The Madness of George III" was
renamed "The Madness of King George", cos they were worried that
american audiences would think it was a sequel...

Sadly that's a myth. To say I was gutted when I found out would be an
    understatement.

And then there was the mid-West drive-in manager who was booking an
all-night horror-fest. Looking through the films available from the
distributor he found one which looked gory. He hadn't seen it, but he
    booked it anyway. It was:

    Die Fledermaus.

    I'll cling to that.

Mind, any culture not used to royalty would probably have trouble
knowing that "George III" referred to a monarch. As both a republican
and an ignoramus, I know almost nothing about the history of the
monarchs of the UK, and have to think hard to know when, say, the
    Edwardian period was.

I think of what the furniture and architecture looks like and make a
    guess from there.

Yersh. You know what I meant. And I sort of know that Edwardian was
the early part of the 20th century.

1901-1910. The innocence of Britain before the mechanised slaughter
house of 1914-1918 and the international shock of the 1917 revolution.

The last gasp of the English English.

  20. Betelgeuse isn't the subject of the film, it is a demon, and Beetlejuice
    sounds much funnier than Betelgeuse.

Bike's are bosh, PC's are pointless, and the 1990's are nuts!
Bikes are great, PCs are super, and the 1990s are the time to be!
Save the apostrophe! Get 'em right! If in doubt, leave 'em out!!
