My 7-Ser had that way back in 2000 but I don't think it was a common UK
    option.

My first 5-Ser would let you operate the central locking with the engine
running so it would warm up nice and safe on Iffley Road in Hammersmith.
Not a place you would generally leave you car running unattended!

Heh. We've yet to use it in that mode, but now it's got the snow tyres
on it much fun can be had on the snow, especially with the ESP turned
    off :)

I've come to the conclusion that 300bhp is just about enough power.
Although clearly you can never have too much.

And I just followed up something I read on another site earlier today
    - it would seem that the R36 is actually quicker, at 5.8s 0-100kph for
my estate version, than a Porsche 996 tiptronic, at 6.2s, although tbf
the manual porker does it in 5.4s.

Yes but it's important not to underplay the fact one of those machines
is Teutonic engineering at it's finest, the other a VW Golf's granddad
    on prune juice.

Self-starting engine? Now that would be clever. Does it drive you to
    work by itself as well?

Actually I quite enjoy brushing the snow of the car.. dunno why. Probably
because I only get to do it a few times a year, and it still holds some
childish pleasure. Of course it helps that usually in the mountains, the
snow hasn't thawed and re-frozen, so it's still light and fluffy and easy
    to push off.

It's automatic, but you have to be there.

    That's for 0-60mph, don't forget, thobut.

Than again, I wouldn't put too much trust in that page, judging by the
rest of the figures. It's amazing just how variable the top speeds
    are, e.g.:

    190 mph/306 km/h
    190 mph/317 km/h
    190 mph/307 km/h
    190 mph/306 km/h
    190 mph/306 km/h

    Rubbish.

Civilised is waking at whatever time it happens to be, having a cup of tea
delivered to you in bed, then getting ready to work out which guitar you'll
spend the day playing. Then playing it.

With regular breaks to take the proffered cups of tea and calls for meals.
