    me too - used to do a lot of mucking about with the electricity as a
    teenager, in the after school "Physics Club"

    Loads of soldering iron burns too, sort of connectedly.

    And though of course not so many amps, but what fun we'd have standing
    on a rubber mat, hands on the top of a Van Der Graff generator and
    then daring earthed people to touch us.

    In fact ...

    To bring two threads together

    One of the first mains shocks I had was just behind that wall in
    Kimbolton that Pip keeps on rabbiting on about

    knocked me across the room it did

    and I got no sympathy
