Part 1: Can't send long mails due to some crap problem.

OK so I was riding back to work after a trip home.
I had new front pads fitted Monday.
It had rained "just a smidge"
I'm going downhill at 50 on a snaky left/right bit.
I see a fourby stop, look at me and think right he's seen me.
Like hell. Or maybe he did. Dunno. Leave the 'adding' to Clem (sorry if
    I misremember, it's been a pissy day).

Anyway next thing I know there's some dolt in a fourby doing about 25 in
front of me doing 50 at a nice lean in the wet with new front pads.
I think don't brake too hard, straighten up a bit to brake more .. got
all that in motion anyway .. then there was the kerb, and me going at
about 15 degrees to it, at around 30 (sorry for the pedants, I felt my
attention best directed elsewhere, it may have been 20 ..).

I'm not wearing gloves or a jacket for the first time ever.

    Part 2.

Anyway I did what my brain demanded, kinda vaulted off and landed
running uttering a loud "****" as I do so. Suffice to say that's the
extent of my injuries, some vocal strain - pretty lucky.

Fritz on the other hand came off the worse for wear. He was pretty lucky
but even so the nasty kerb dinged the frame and bent his bars, chipped
the forks, scuffed the rear, cracked the front guard and removed a good
portion of its pain. Did I mention the gear selector snapped off and I
gouged some nice scuffs in the engine housing ? Like a true trooper he
limped me back to work in second where I inspected his wounds more fully
(and brought a mate to share Fritz's pain). Anyway, I rang Rock and as
always they were ever so nice and helpful.

I dropped my buddy off at about 1pm, they gave me a scooter. At 3.30 I
rang and got told he was OK, and wasn't needed for observation
overnight. He's had his guard glued, and the selector's been repaired
with a bolt. The handlebars tell me something about a mallet but I think
they're making it up for sympathy. Anyway, for an hour and a half's
labour my little buddy's sat in the garage. I got him at 4.30 and rode
him home very slowly. Put him in the garage and told him I was sorry.
Felt like a dickhead but hey, Fritz has feelings too, and he'd just
    taken one for the team.

Oh in case you're wondering, the arse in the fourby didn't notice
either. Certainly didn't frigging stop. Believe it or not, it was the
only car I saw on the way back to work.

  4. Of course self-preservation comes first, and glad to hear only your
vocal cords suffered; sorry about the bike. If it ever happens again,
and you can do it without risking your neck, drive into the SMIDSY oaf.
    That way it's their insurance.

Oh, and always wear your jacket, pants, boots and gloves. Always. It's
protective magic: the SMIDSY event never happens if you're wearing the
stuff. But then, you knew that already, didn't you.

Glad you're ok, if a bit shaken..... You might be a little sore tomorrow, in
bits you didn't realise you'd hit in the heat of it all. Glad to hear Fritz
    has survived too.

    take care mate

Don't be silly; it's EASY to post crap here!
Hmmm... I'm missing the point here.
    EXCELLENT response Sir!
Sorry to hear about Fritz's injuries but all-in-all I give you a 10 for
    "outcome" Yeebok.

(un)funnily enough; I've ALWAYS been wearing my best gear when I've crashed.
Shirt-sleeves, shorts and a half-face and I have no worries but but me in
boots, jacket. gloves and a new helmet and I'm an accident about to happen!!

Don't bother with the clean undies though, because you're going to shit
    yourself anyway.

Glad you're OK. That's a bad situation to be in and things coulda been
a lot worse. Pity about the fourby - they get away with murder these
    days.
Was that the Port Rock? Nice people if it was.
